I didn't think I would but I found a cracked version of 3D max 9 and I'm basically self taught so don't expect the Mona Lisa but might as well ask for something complex seeing as how I want to become good at modeling.
Well the ones included with the program don't suffice but there's enough online to substitute for a teacher. I'll try. At most Il be able to make the sword look good.
vehicles are a good starter. i've been modeling for a little while, not anything special, just modifying game models a little... but there is this seriously good vehicle tutorial, it shows in detail how to model an audi a3 hatchback if you go to 3d-palace.com (you may have to register) then go to video tutorials along the side. Autodesk 3DS Max -> Autodesk 3DS MAX Higher Level, then Advanced 3DS Max - The Audi A3. the downloads are a little like rapidshare, you have a set window to do it all in - do it in order, then play them all in media player or something. play the tut with max open. it helped me real good, and you could apply it to any other model you feel.
I've tried making 3D lin on Photoshop... I couldn't help but just copy and paste him on, and make it look good
