This didn't fit elsewhere....so here it is. :p

My choices ATM are as follows, with a Limit of $50 USD including tax/shipping.

    http://www.amazon.com/RCA-Flash-Player-M4508-Playback/dp/B0037UUYGA/
    http://www.amazon.com/Nextar-MP3-MP4-Player-Black/dp/B002LVUQG4/
    http://www.amazon.com/Coby-Video-Player-MP727-8GBLK-Black/dp/B00360FAFG/

So which would be best? I haven't added any to cart yet to see if they go over $50, so any recommendations on better ones for a similar price would be great. :p

EDIT: Well fuck...Turns out amazon doesn't do free shipping on items over $25 USD anymore...this has just become a "Can someone recommend the best MP3 player for $40 USD and under" topic.

I want it to play MP3's with great sound quality. That's all it needs to do :p

And have a large enough screen and buttons for easy usability.

I use an iriver H320 with an extended life battery and an 80GB hard disk (both are modifications). They're hard to find though.

I'll probably never use anymore than 4 GB =/

my current MP3 player only has 1GB (if that) on it..
And you're right, it is hard to find, i been reviewing these things on site after site =/

if you only need 4GB then try one of the newer flash based irivers.

Amazon only does their free super saver shipping on items they ship. Third party sales through Amazon don't qualify for that offer.

I personally use a Sandisk Sanze Fuse (sp?) 8GB w/ expandable memory via MicroSD card slot. I use the Rockbox custom firmware with it, and although it isn't officially supported yet (ie: still a couple kinks), it has yet to have problems outside of minor database errors that seem to duplicate songs. It only duplicates in the database and not in the actual memory though, so it's no big deal. A general database update or initialization seems to remedy it most of the time.

If you don't want to bother with that though and don't mind not having games, the normal firmware is nice to look at and comes with all the features the person looking for a normal MP3 player could possibly need.

    This one is pretty good
    http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-Video-Player-Black/dp/B0015L0T68/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1293659520&sr=1-1

and it's even better if you rockbox it, not sure if you can do that with the 3 mp3 you wanted
you can add a micro sd for more storage
it's about the size of a credit card
I've used this until I got my ipod touch

coby and nextar is a cheap brand, sound quality is not good with those 2

Exactly. You pay $50 with the gift card, cover the rest with a bank card/credit card/Amazon gift card from a coin star, etc.

    Sandisk Sansa Clip+
You can use MicroSDs with it, too.

This is basically a more simple Fuze, but it will certainly meet your needs for less cost.

it's only like $4 over your budget, too bad that card is non-reloadable, but I'm sure you can find it online for under $50
