This idea popped into my head while I was posting a reply in my last topic, "I miss this show."
Really, has everyone's favorite Children's movie maker gone stale?
Here's a list that is making me think so:
    • With the exception of Prince Caspian the only Disney Movies coming out are from Pixar
    • Disney's very own channel has over five shows that use the same plot, consisting of the protagonist having some huge secret s/he can't spill
    • Many of their character's are based on stereotypes, the worst one (in my opinion) probably being Zack&Cody's London Tipton, who is a dumb blonde made Asian (I have enough trouble with people assuming that I'm either Chinese, Japanese, or Korean)
    • They overuse the idea that anything can happen if you do good things. In truth, karma doesn't work that way. In fact, after doing so many good things and being a good person, I've still yet to have something that really, REALLY benefits me and other people alike. Basically, I'm losing my belief in karma
    • I'm sure that a majority of people here are familiar with the controversy of Vanessa Hudgens of High School Musical. If you are not, On 9/6/2007, a quick debate erupted after porn pics Hudgens were released onto the web. Not exactly, the child inspiration that I had in mind

I'm sure that there are other reasons too. No, not flaming Disney, as I love Mickey Mouse and see him as a way to express a "who-cares-so-long-as-it's-fun?" personality, but I'm kinda starting to lose faith in Disney and if there is any way of making get back that feeling of being a lil munchkin, maybe that can post it here in a Civilized manner.

lion king 2 was the last decent film they ever made, and that was inferior to all the previous films they made, it was full of glaring continuity errors.

I guess it's because it pretty much shows the real world and humanity is, a bunch of people who just start wars for stupid reasons. but at the same time it kinda gives off a "Romeo & Juliet" feel considering that the "bad" boy and "good" girl end up falling for eachother

it was based on romeo and juliet, same as the original was based on hamlet.

I never did like most of those fairy tale based movies.

Why don't they just go back to Goofy's funny stupid "how to" short films, our those Donald gets frustrated toons, those were the best.

Of all the Disney Animated movies I've seen "The Brave little Toaster" has got to be my favorite, and the Herbie classic flicks, those were really awesome!

lol shakespeare's plays weren't fairy tales, they had roots in true stories.

I'm not talking about the Shakespearean plays that were given adaptations, I was talking about Aladdin, the little Mermaid, Snow White etcetera.

After a look at good ol' wikipedia, i found out that they are making a movie for the PoP:Sands of Time. To think, a video game, full of blood, sexual themes, and decapitations, become a Disney Movie! If you ask me, I have high doubts on this one.

disney have done films with violence in before; bedknobs and broomsticks was a disney film, and that was set in the second world war, and featured the nazis invading England.

yeah but based on a rated M game? It feels like Nick Jr. making the next episode of South Park.

Yeah they are, all the graphics looks the same, movies don't have the same touch anymore. A Prince of Persia movie would be awesome. Yeah they look similar to Dreamworks and Pixel?, what's that company called. The one that made Incredibles.

well i aslways found disney's movie entertaining, Aladin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderalla, Snow White, Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, Mulan, Toy Story and the lastest Enchanted.

I love those, however i never like disney movie which have turned into series like Lilo and Stitch the series... and i belive the only Disney cartoon that i really enjoy is Kim Possible (and Kim Possible the movie)

What about the High School Musical series? Y'gotta admit that really is getting quite old, and that it seriously is time for something new (Ha! HSM Pun!)

High School Musical was a blast when the first came out (although I really hated it, I don't like musicals). The second one is a cheap rip off and the third isn't going to get better (I don't know if it's already out?).

I liked the older movies, like Toy Story (maybe that was because I had a Genesis game for that one :p), and the last good animated movie they made (I think) is The Incredibles.

About the series they make, indeed, Zack and Cody is stupid. However, I love those old cartons they made about Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald duck.

It's as they say, "good ol' times".

Again a lot of stereotypes in that musical.

They should just make an extremely violent gory film at least once, that'd surely up their popularity again.

Yeah. After a quick Google search of the same subject, I couldn't believe how many people have topics about the Disney Channel sucking eggs.
