walnuts

any body here able to crack a walnut and get at least half a nut out. tried all Christmas and all i got was bits :-[

 

Get a knife and in the bottom there's a little bit you can jam it in. Then you can jam it open.

 

I'd use a hammer.

 

And destroy the bit you eat?

 

Yes, but if I wanted to...a screw driver or a nail would help.

I use my hands. Crush it between my palms.

Usually able just to crack it along the edges enough to split it open and dig out the full piece of walnut. Sometimes I slip and the whole thing gets smashed between my hands and it makes a mess

 

I just smash it against a wall...

i either crush it between my thumb and forefinger on my right hand or like somemone else said you can use a small knife poke it just into the non pointed end of the nut and just twist it you can get them out in one piece like that still having the two halfs joined together.did you know that the walnut has the most nutrients out of all the nuts ?
