you need neither file wiper nor registry editor.

Get AVG, ad-aware and spy-boy search-and-destroy. Hopefully that should take care of it.

then that's it, you are stuck with the virus. rofl! what were you thinking? were you using your head up there or your other head down there?! how could you not have administration account? isn't it your computer?!

when i get hit with a virus, i usually try to roll back. if that doesn't work then i'll reformat the whole thing and install a fresh os. i know it's a lot of work but there's nothing left behind of the virus. you can use avg and norton and such but i feel that there is always a trace of that one particular software and it bugs me. also, it may screw make some programs become weird and stuff.

don't you wish you could beat the shit out of the guy who decided to create these internet viral software.

You can't edit the registry without administrator privileges, I believe. Who is the admin? Ask him/her to do it for you.

Then download and run Grisoft's Vcleaner.

You dont need to install it, just run it and a cmd-like window will appear showing the progress of the scan and what viruses it has found. This baby saved my life when a virus infected all my applications and I couldnt uninstall or run anything.

Get AVG's 8.0 Internet Security Suite trial. Should do the trick. And just tell the admin about the problem, before it gets worse. That's a waste of money. Tell them they're plain lazy. Well I've always used Administrator, so regedit always works.

Its still better to format it and don't you have any anti virus install or someone been surfing too many ahem...cough site that can invite a virus party lol i was using bitdefender and spybot search and destroy and now only bitdefender everything seems to be ok nothing infected just be more careful when surfing and installation.if you are not porfessional at the registry thing then get cc cleaner works well and keep the pc clean as the name suggest.^_^

Well your best bet is to backup files that are important to you such as games or music and then reformat your hardrive that's what i did recently and my comp works a charm. Good luck with that.

Have you tried running the Panda Active Scan? It works through your browser via Active-X.

scanning as i type, panda did not work (admin issue) but trend micro is scanning now so far it has only found one virus that my antivirus did not find(fasterxp.adware), it says that it will take 21 1/2 hours!, but i guess i can wait, (i just hope nothing questionable pops up in the mean time)
well back on linux, after the scan it could not get rid of all the viruses and the ones it did get rid of came back :(
