Is this a virus? a trojan? I have never gotten this massage before on my trend micro anti virus and it showed up quickly on the bottom left side with this message "potential threat Troj_Generic.DIT " but most things I get on my compter trend micro catches and quritines it, but this just appeared as a quick message on the bottom right corner, but I haven't downloaded anything today except pokemon pearl and shuny save file I converted, but anyway I did a quick scan and checked my old scan results and got this. So is this a virus? or a trojan? it says ignored? thats what has me worried, but what do you guys recommend I do right now? EDITED I found the infected file it turned out to be my emulator? do you guys think it was infected? or do you think that my anti virus picked it up as a trojan or a virus? or is it actually infected? I ended up deleting it to my recycling bin.
...where did you get your no$gba (It was hard to see-but it was a no$gba2x)? If the no$gba was a 2X...then I'd assume it was one of the many fakes that have viruses ridden in them.
it was downloaded a long time ago thoe? it came with the DSwindPro pack and I just checked again and it shows this what should I do??? should I turn off my computer or something? or how to stop it??? Post Merge: [time]1269246930[/time] No$gba2X NO$GBA2X.EXE these came with WinDS pro Also, I put all these in the recycle bin, but does that infect my Recycle bin? because it said this C:\$recycle.bin\s-1-5-21-36 numbers ect ect ect1000\$rnfj4k5.exe on the very top of the 2:57 status but should I be worried? it said this " 8 threats blocked " but then it says ignored in detailed log?
And WHERE did you get this pack? Sounds like you got one of the fake virus ridden no$gba's. And keep scanning with your anti virus, ANYTHING INFECTED now must be removed.
I got it from a spanish, when hgss first came out in japan, and this windspro packed was able to play the japanese games, but this guy really did make the games playable and he even has a youtube account named after windspro I believe? Also, how do I get rid of my recycling bin if it's infected?????? Post Merge: [time]1269254415[/time] ohh and one more thing how do I get rid of them exactly? do I just put them in the recycling bin? I'm currently scanning with malwarebytes and trend micro anit virus, but do you recommend anything eles?
...I'm used to my anti virus removing the files...from the pics you sent here you seemed to have ignored them, pleacing them into recycle won't help... Also delete all the contents that came together, from the sounds of it it was a well set trap to make you use it-I dislike downloading things from youtube suggestions unless it's on another pc I don't care about-experience says it all.
ignored success means the AV did nothing about it. Delete the files from the recycle bin and run a full system scan (you have to execute the file to infect your system).
Hey thanks guys for your quick responses. but what do you mean by (you have to execute the file to infect your system).? I did delete them from the recycling bin, but was that a bad idea? and I'm doing a full system scan with both trend micro and malwarebytes. Thanks for the replies guys EDTIED* Trend micro found nothing and says protected and maleware bytes found two things and removed them, but that was on quickscan and it's currently doing full system scan right now. EDITED Malwarebytes Anti-maleware Scan completed successfully. No malicious items were detected so am I in the clear guys? what do you think? and what should I do to ensure this does not happen in the future? and any other tips or tricks you guys think I should do before I relax?
you should be in the clear now. Basically when an executable (=program) file is infected, you need to run the program before it will cause any damage. without being run, the virus cannot do anything. that is why you are advised not to run suspicious programs. Deleting the file was the correct course of action. really theres nothing you can do other than being careful and keeping your AV up to date.
