video-sound splitting program

    does anybody know any program that splits the sound from videos ? it would be very useful, as i need it for some youtube videos. i think i had one, it was called... something with "studio"... so post the name of the program and if you can a link, too. thank you...

    pinnacle studio, but its a load of crap.

    The only free video editing software I know is virtualdub

    thanks, but does anybody know any program that works directly with mp4 archieves? (if i convert it the quality gets ruined)

    virtualdub will work with anything you have codecs for.

    mp4 pisses off like all video editors because it's a really annoying format to edit with.

    WavePd (NCH)...
    Audacity...
    Also, convert MP4 with Xilisoft Video Converter or Youtube Downloader..
