Yes,Im still trying to set up my PS3 for wi-fi play and have seen some of these wi-fi "plugins" (that just plug into the USB port) and then you have wi-fi set up . I really wish my PS3 was in the same room as my flat screen..lol If anyone knows of one of these USB wi-fi plugins please let me know and where to get a decent one. Thanks.

I was looking to find a way to go wireless to play my PS3 and I know of the wireless modem router but, Ive also heard of a USB type plug in that will give me wi fi for my PS3. Hope that helps some.

PS3 will not connect to a USB wifi adaptor, it has to be either a wireless router or a wireless access point.

I personally like the ubiquiti airrouter, but thats for cable connections (i.e where you're not using your phone line or you have a modem with a single ethernet port such as the siemens speedstream 4100). If you already have a router without wireless, then adding another router can cause complications. The ideal solution in that case would be a wireless access point, which is simply a bridge between wired and wireless. HP Procurve do nice WAPs. It is often possible to abuse a cable router (such as the airrouter) as a WAP by disabling the DHCP server and not using the WAN port. There isnt a whole lot of choice anymore since linksys went to shit.

OK so you have landline based DSL. Do you have a modem or a modem/router (easy way to tell the difference is how many rj45 jacks it has, if 1 then its a modem, if 4 then its a modem/router)
