Upgrading iTouch firmware to 2.0?

Is there any way i can upgrade my iTouch firmware, version 1.1 something, to 2.0 without buying it?

 

There's no 2.0 version released yet, just wait, they update quite fast. Latest is 1.9.

 

Also, what file types does the iTouch play for movies? I don't think .avi works.

 

It should play .dpg files (NDs-mPeG) which is a special video format for the DS, created for moonshell, the most popular DS media player. Download something like BatchDPG or SUPER converter (google) to convert the files into .dpg format. There is also something called Tuna-viDS which is supposed to be able to play .avi, but at a really bad quality.

DS, nearly all flashcarts can run .dpg movie files.

No, it's actually called iTouchDS, made by the M3 team I believe.
