OK, now I'm starting to get rather peed off with this. Every time i load my PC up i get the Windows Installer pop-up. I quickly load up Task Manager and then end the process ISUSPM.exe, which is the windows installer process. That temporarily halts the problem but it always comes back on after a little while and goes absolutely berserk! All i want to know is how the heck do i stop Update Manger from running. I know this is common in the Roxio suite, which i have had on this computer, but i have uninstalled it and deleted all necessary registry keys so i don't believe it to be the culprit. Any ideas??? Any help would be great. Thanks
ISUSPM sounds more like installshield update manager than windows update, and yes it is a major pain in the ass, but unfortunately it is a legitimate program. Open it up and find what software it checks for updates for and remove them from the list (or your computer).
aha, may have found the problem. my pm.html file is corrupt so i'm going to download and see if this does anything. Will post back soon.
Well after a couple of days testing it i have found the problem, isolated it and then fixed it. My pm.html page was corrupt, which i think is to the installshield update program. All i did was uninstall it and reinstall it using the methods shown on site. Thank you
