Story scenes take place during the day in a magic academy. In battle, you control Refi, one of the Knights of Mag. Refi enrolled in the academy after he saw Felicia, a fairy, attack one of his friends while she was searching for the power of the eye. Players get a chance to chat with party members after battle. These after time sequences affect the flow of the story and ultimately the ending.

should I play Luminous arc 2? never played the first one.

 

It usually has different story and characters, just similiar universe and gameplay.

I hope they upgrade the combat system. Compared to other SRPGs Luminous Arc makes me cringe with the simplicity. Maybe I'm just a Fire Emblem snob. <_< Otherwise, the artwork is enjoyable, & the stories are... tolerable. Definitely would like to get the option to have Japanese speech with English text though, I wanted to drive a pickaxe into my eye every time Pip made any stupid quip in LA2.

 

Haha I agree, Pip was irritating. Rina as well, always saying "Sniper Rina!"

 

Characteres in this game seens to be more grown up I guess?

Btw is the main character the guy with the lance or the one with the sword?

 

I think the sword guy(Refi?) and the other is a friend. The flute girl is the MC's childhood friend and the Redhead is a friend.
