I found my old dusty orange box when cleaning my room and decided to play portal again. wiht the latest patches, steam added achievements to these games. portal was my first decision of play. inside the first test chamber, the light on the radio has changed. it's like a reddish light. I liked the still alive music so I decided to take it along with me. when I reached the second room of the test chamber, the radio started getting weird muffling sounds. I threw it on the red button and it started emitting a weird noise which sounded exactly like morse code. I followed the "transmission recieved" achievement walkthrough and apparently there is much more of this. 26 of these transmissions in the whole game and 3 of them have been translated here. the other random noises were completely useless. or at least I thought. with a little more research I notice that the other random noises were in face SSTV images. it's a little method people use to decode an image from a special sound. an example of a portal SSTV image can be found here. this is what I do in my spare time. oh and a compilation of these decoded images can be found here
