I registered with romulation maybe 2 years back with the intention of setting my nds up completely. However my half hearted attemp led me to get games on the screen but to not appreciate that it actually beyond my understanding, not being computer minded and so managed to get a few games downloaded but no save facilty or films or anything else. Unfortunately our pc was changed and lost all of the programming and downloads needed. My neice has recently expressed an interst in my ds lite which i said i would try to sort for her. ds lite r4 sdhc revolution for ds ndsl/nds (black) micro sd 2gb As i said i am familiar with the process of downloading games and moving them into the micro reader window, but as far as how far i am from doing anything right i know nothing. i have read your how to ask questions and faq if i have done it write i dont think i saw anything like my problem if there is i appologise. desktop windows xp descriptions ds loads and comes up with calender on top and pac man music and two faces on bottom when i press music - "can't find file of _DS_MSHL.NDS in the SD/TF root directory" appears press ok goes back to pac man screen when i press faces icon - it says "Cant find NDS or GBA card in s2. Do you want to boot to NDS mode? Dont knnow what is means some games say "cant find the sav for this file do you want to create it" when you select the game When i press pac man top screen says ROM and bottom has a directory button, which which when pressed top screen shows all the games i have. If there is anyone who is willing and kind enough to help me sort through these issues to set it up completely i am your willing student. i would be very greatful, i appreciate i am out of my depth not to mention comfort zone kind regards stewart i will answer any questions
Sound like to just need to format your microSD chip , redownload the firmware from the website on your box , and reput all the files inside of the arcvie onto the microsd Its only missing them files mentiond But backup any games there first However try are much better firmwares that work for the r4 original , woodR4 v1.09 that will run alot more newer games http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=11855 Appart from shrek 4 and toystory, will have to wait for v1.10 Post Merge: [time]1277807962[/time] EDIT: You need to install winrar to unpack the games from its arcive befor puting the game onto the microsd , as well as the firmware, games end with .nds
thanks for replying jhon so i have loaded the firmware you suggested. i extracted all of the files and put them in the memory card. should i put them somewhere else to get it to work like the system file or something? so at present i have a _systems_ and ROM folder with nothing in them a wood_r4_v1.09 folder _DS_ MENU system file _DS_MENU DAT file _DS_MENU configuration settings file "moonshi" folder (my part attempt of downloading moonshine i thnk) what should i do know? thans for your help stew
ROM's folder is where you place your .nds games into Im untosure on SDHC type R4's, I supose you can make new folders like My Moves , My Music est To convert Moves from AVI to DPG witch DS plays with moonshl you can use Xilisoft DPG Converter v5.1.26.0710 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nnotjzz4mj1 Hope this helps

You don't realy need to have them folders, its just to keep thing neat XD! Do what you like and give it a go, They is no harm in trying it will not damage your card are DS , either it works or don't work EDIT: SDHC R4's should realy use a SDHC microSD's, But i supose 2gb SD cards are ok just might be alittle slower in loading games
Hey, since your R4 is a clone (it is. Actual real R4 cards never had SDHC support) you might not be able to use Wood R4! If you ARE able to use it, however, you might want to check http://www.gbatemp.net because there's a newer version of Wood R4 out already.

I means that file from your firmware is not in the root of your microSD chip Root is when you plugin-in your microSD reader with microsd in it and the first screen that pop's-up on your pc, is called the root That file might be there but in a folder and not the root of your microSD chip Exsample G:\ = root Pendind on the letter drive it is using F:\ = root est _DS_MSHL.NDS , Should be in this place and "Not" in any folder, if it is then copy and paste into the root , deleate if in a folder
so my firmware the wood r4 ... you told me to download, your saying it is not in my micro sd chip (E:\ drive)folder when i view the files in the chip, is that what you are saying? when i plug reader in and view the files in it i have a separat folder with the wood r4 file in it, is this right or does it need to be somewhere else? it is obviously in the chip but need to know if it needs to be in the systems folder or if it is ok in its own folder. so where do i get this _DS_MSHL.NDS
I thought you where using your original firmware ? , and not wood R4 instend WoodR4 is a whole new firmware and should be put onto a clean formatted chip, But im unsure if it would work on your SDHC clone r4 EDIT: Check hear for woodR4 SDHC trype http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39701 http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39570.0 1. Backup your games 2. Format your microSD chip , click right on letter drive and see format then do a full format in fat32 3. Download custom firmware , Are your original firmware from the website on your box either use one of any only 4.
