So I got Windows 8 Developer Preview installed when I noticed 10.60 GB of unallocated space in 'Computer Management.' I read articles online about how to delete it, but they all said I couldn't, but I could extend a partition, but when I right-click on my C-Drive to extend that, the 'Extend Volume...' isn't available, nor is it available on any of the partitions.

Is there any way to delete this unallocated space or extend my C-Drive?

the space is deleted, its unusable until theres a partition put there. Windows cannot extend the partition, however third party software (such as partition magic) can.

Is there one thing that Windows CAN do without third-party support?

You can also use third party programs to "recover" lost partitions, which may be what that 10.60 GB partition was for...My guess it was some partition used to "backup" Windows 7 system files. If you're not missing anything, then I wouldn't worry about it. Time to add 11 more GB to the main partition!

There really is no way to "delete" unallocated space, it simply means that the computer has not formatted that certain part yet unless you did it yourself. Then extending the partition should be able to add the remaining space to the main drive.

    It can crash without help.

That is true, as I have discovered on a couple computers, running either Windows Vista or Windows 7.
