have you run antivirus and spyware scans?

I don't think the warranty is still active, and I've updated Norton to the latest definitions and etc., done 5 scans, but nothing's helping. (no viruses\spyware\trojans have appeared in the virus scan.)

Try using a reliable anti-virus program.

check your power options under control panel that may be something, or open your computer and see if anything is not fully connected to the PSU.

if you want a reliable virus scanner, go for trend micro pc-cillin or nod32.

^ i had more problems with trend than i did with norton! AVG is by far the best

thats the one im running at the moment. it came free when i got my pc fixed up, so i thought what the hell, ill keep it. i didnt list it because its only the free version and i dont actually know how good the paid version is.

    Code:
the free version only protects you against viruses, while the paid version gives you full protection (malware, spyware, viruses, etc...) ...

free version is good enough, other programs can handle the rest.
