when i play the ds lite with the r4i card do i have to turn the console off and on again to get back to the start menu to choose a different game or am i being really dumb here

 

Have you upgraded your dsi recently?

As in the system's firmware-that blocks out flash carts unless they have been upgraded, not sure if the r4 has such an update.

 

He means like a Soft-Reset, Hypnos.

Some cards support soft-reset, others don't. A+B+Y+X+L+R is the most common Soft-Reset combo.

 

how exactly does one get all those buttons pressed because i can barely get the face buttons down...

 

How old are you? 5? (I mean this in terms of the size of your thumb, not your mental capacity).

The DS A, B, X, Y buttons are easily covered by the thumb all at once, they form a square that is barely half an inch on each side. The L and R buttons are hit with the index fingers like usual. Easily hit all at once.

sorry, i thought the gap was wider the last time i held my ds...

 

can't remember but the old r4 soft rest was something like both triggers and A or maybe start of something.

hang on just googled it and it's L+B+START+SELECT
