TTDS- some games not working

Hi people. There have been a few games that I have downloaded and mostly all of them work perfectly fine on my TTDS, except GTA chinatown wars and Kirby Canvas Curse. Note I am using the USA versions. I would like to know why they aren't working. What happens is, I load it up, the menu works fine, then when I try to make a new game, FREEZE! The screen goes black. Help please! This is getting annoying! I really wanted to try these games but they won't work :'(

 

For GTA, you need to be sure you're using the correct version of the ROM to get past the anti-piracy. You can patch it yourself or download a pre-patched ROM here - https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=14970.0

For Kirby Canvas Curse, it should work fine. Check out what firmware you're using - 1.16 is the latest official firmware, 1.17 is the unoffiicial. If you still have issues with some games, you can try renaming them (this has solved issues where games flat out won't load) or reformatting your SD card.

 

To be more accurate, there is an official 1.17 firmware

But there is also an Unofficial modification of 1.17, called 1.17a07

This version includes some anti-piracy fixes. GTA may work without patching on it, I am not sure.

 

GTA works fine without patching on my DSTT, so if you don't have the latest firmware update it and before you play it make sure you enable the Backup Save Enabler(it's called something like that) cheat.
