ok, a friend of mine went and bought a wireless USB adapter, since it was cheaper than alot of the routers near my house >__>

well, she was reading on it, that it should be able to change into a wifi spot from a connected PC

also, here is the details for the USB adapter
    Netgear Wireless-N 150 USB adapter

    here is my question now:
can this piece be changed into a Wifi spot using a hardwired PC into a modem? if so please try to dub it down for her, since she isnt very computer smart

linux with a certain program on it, but even that cannot be compared to a proper wireless AP.

hmmm... >__> so shes basically better off paying 50 ~ 70 dollars for a cheap router than this?

lol, i love when people think they can ignore their PC repair person O-O

whats even worse is, that she stated to my face that she could find a way to get it working, i told her that it was damn near impossible and she would have been better with a wireless router than that junk piece, oh well, i still get paid either way, so i can't be bitching about it

nope, this is a woman that wanted to be cheap, i have a linksys wireless router at my house :D

i informed her that she couldn't be cheap about what she bought and go with a wireless router for the stuff, no she didn't listen to me >__>
she went on a site and they were talking about turning a wireless USB adapter into a Wifi AP and well, she went down that road
