A few weeks ago i formated a verbatrim external hard drive to WBFS, now i have a huge problem, i cant make the PC read it, it shows up under control panel --> hardware and sound ----> printers & devices, i cant open it and it wont show up on my computer section, how can i reformat this to NTFS, so i can make a WBFS partition?

You have to use a WBFS drive manager. If you had done any research prior, you would know that WBFS is a specially created file system that can't normally be read by a computer.

This, thats what i did with my 16 GB HDD, i used WBFS manager to make it a WBFS drive and just use WBFS manager to put the games on it.

*facepalm* i knew i forgot to add something, i cant since the WBFS manager wont read the external hard drive, it shows C : and D : which is my non working D unit.

So i have no way to acess the external hard drive.

Did you make sure to hit the refresh list after plugging in the drive?

Yep, i did, altough give me a sec to check

Nope, nothing at all, hitting the refresh button on WBFS 4.0 only shows up C and D

Uhhhh, well we aren't exactly tech experts, but if you want help from us it'd be nice if you gave us a little more information.
Have you tried going to administrative settings and accessing the drive manager btw?

    Yeah, what he said.

Edit: Oh, and if that doesn't work you could always try fucking around with the device manager.

A friend of mine suggested that, nope, it doesnt shows, i tired also using the windows install CD to see if i could try to format it from there, dint work either, i have no idea what to do.

Ok, here is all the info i have on hand:

    1) i formated the whole hard drive as WBFS, it read once, then it wont show up on my laptop at all.
    2) it shows up under control panel----->hardware and sound---->Devices and printers.
    3) It doesnt shows up under administrative tools---->computer management---->Drive management.

if it doesnt show in drive management then the chances are the drive is physically broken.

It works, the issue is that i am unable to acess it, it even has a small screen it says scanning, then after a while it is connected it says wrong format.

    Okay, so it's not broken.
I think it may be corrupted or something, though.
Have you tried accessing it with anything other than windows?

It wont show up under the disk utility, that much i can say, but i know it isnt being accessed by mac, the hard drive once it's accesessed starts making a high pitched nose.

    Welp, I'm stumped.
Are you sure there's no way for you to forcefully reformat it?

This is a VERY BAD SIGN. the drive is dead or on its way out.

ever since i got it whenever it went on, it start doing like PI PI PI even before it formated it, it seemed natural

@Niflheim no idea, my last hope is giving it to a few people i know that are experts on computers to see if they can acess it and reformat it.

its not natural for a hard disk to make a noise like that, its a warning sign.
