Translation patch for metal max returns

Discussion in 'Nintendo' started by postnuclearman, Jan 24, 2013.

  1. Okay I have no idea how to make this work.

    Do I just put the .ips file in a folder with the same name as the ROM and run Znes or what?

    you get an ips patching program, such as lunar ips (google lunarips zophar's domain) run the program,select your rom (use the browse button, usually three dots inside a square) and then go and do the same with theips patch section, after you have both items selected click on patch.

    And ugh! zsnes is no longer a good SNES emulator. You should use snes9x instead:

    LunarIPS can be found here:

  4. Thank you, both of you (Duncan for his instructions and Carlos for his links) I did precisely as you said and the patch is working just fine. I hope you both have a very nice day!

    @postnuclearman:

    That's basically how it is done but there are a few instances where you might need to do something else before you apply a fan translation patch onto the "raw" Japanese ROM for a fan translation to properly work. In some of these cases you might need to expand a ROM or apply a header to it for the patch to work. The "readme" file that often comes with your downloaded fan translation patches usually gives you some information as to how you should go about doing these extra steps as well as which tools to use.

    Good to know, this is very useful information and I'll try to keep it in mind should I ever run into this problem again.
