    Hey.
does it really take soooooo long to open a torrent file?!
I wanted to open xilisoft (downloaded from piratebay) and it takes like minutes only to check for a firewall!
Then (as I wanted to open another file {Avatar film}) its said:
"Next Announce in: 143 days" !!!???
WTF? Does it relay take so long?!

depends on the torrent. The announce period really isn't relevant to the operation of the torrent

cant tell. depends on filesize, number of seeds and leechers, and if you torrent client is set up properly or not.

I just went on this site: http://www.bittorrent.com/
I downloaded the programme here, then i chose the "Xilisoft" file and it said "checking for firewall"
5 minutes later it says under "information" = blablabla: 9:04 hours :(
    does that help?
do I have to download the programme somewhere else??

maybe is the program or maybe you download a invalid file, I dunno

Have other torrents done this before?

Try another one, if it happens again it might be your internet/firewall protection blocking you.

I got my firewall to let my torrents go thru, now I just know my net is the reason why it takes so long to download...damn unstable 25kbs...

    ....
Which torrent client did you use?
I suggest you use either Utorrent or Bittorrent.
You can search for it here.
    www.softpedia.com

and then, download the torrent file(from thepiratebay, or other torrent site)
after you download it(shouldn't take long)
click that torrent file, and then the file will be downloaded.

    Depends on your connection though.
and the availability of the trackers.
