toes are those litte pointy things with nails, no not fingers, they are located on the "foot", as described by sigmund freud. it is believed that 25% of the world population do not have any toes: 1/4, and a further 12% have 6 toes on each foot... my question is do we need them?
Yes. I say this because I have put my foot through a lawn mower and had my big toe severed almost all the way off. During my almost year of recovery I realized how much of our balance is dependent upon our toes. Take a slow step forward once or twice and pay attention to how your weight shifts from your foot to the ball onto the toes. You may be able to do without the little toe but the big one is really important for proper walking. Oh and yeah they did manage to reattach my large toe. It doesn't bend in the middle anymore though.
Who believes this? Anyway, in humans the big toe is very important in balance, the others less so. Some people who make an effort can be very dexterous(sic) with their toes. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097937/ and a small clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbQV54k3Ul0
Also, you can pick up stuff from the ground without bending over and I use my toes to change the settings on my FX pedals on the fly.
Are you a monkey-in that case those are fingers. XD a good laugh! Seriously though they help provide balance-how else but me, a 6.2FT guy reach something high-standing on MA TOES! We were designed with them for adapterbility. It's tonsoles we don't need... *rips out tonsoles
actually all part in our body are needed. maybe you arent using it, but it really needed. eg: we may thought that appendix arent needed but actually it help in our digestion (forgot where i got that, correct me if im wrong).
Toes are really important for the human balance. You have a hard time walking if you don't have toes.
That's too much, pops ;D We really need it. I can't use my special skills when playing football/soccer if I don't have it. XD
gee, thanks! *give to seph use mah shoes! *throw shoes at bhatooth* actually tonsils have it use. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/health/askdoctortom/4160990.What___s_the_use_of_tonsils_and_appendix_/
can you give a hard evidence that at least 1.5 billion people from the rough estimate of 6 billion people, do not have toes? if its " it is believe", can you give us at least some people who believe that? I can believe the 6 toes, but 1/4 of the world population has no toes? If you dont have toes, you'll just be like walking on peg legs. So toes are extremely important.
