So I've noticed quite a few people who have admitted that they can not perceive 3D. Such as the 3D that the 3DS uses.

I'm curious, and this is solely a question based on curiosity since I myself have horrible eyesight, but I can see the 3D effects just fine, I was wondering what kind of visual based issues you have?

DO any of you have problems with Depth Perception in general? Wide or narrow spacing of the eyes? A lazy eye? [sure fire way of not being to see 3D right there I think. :c ]

Anyway I was just wondering since the whole technology used for this screen is basically centered around aiming 2 different pictures, one at each eye, and that essentially emulates what happens in normal sight in the first place. So to those that can see it, it's like looking into a window. What do you see? [aimed at those who cant see the 3D]

I do not have stereoscopic vision so my eyes do not work together in the same way as most peoples' do (yes both my eyes do work, I just lack the stereoscopy) This means my brain does not merge the two offset images to form a 3d image, so I see two offset 2d images on top of each other, rather like the ghost effect seen on TVs with poor signal.

    Ahh that's interesting! I was wondering how exactly people saw it when they didn't "see" it. [I hope that makes sense XD] That's a shame though, the effect really is nice looking. I was wondering do you have any depth perception issues? As that fundemental stereoscopic imagery is how humans see depth properly. I wonder if your brain takes like the primary eye and uses JUST that for basic sight... I dunno~ It's just interesting to me. o_o;

@hirokaski: It's not so much an issue of being used to it. I'm talking about just flat out not being able to see it, weather it be a vision issue, a spacing issue or something else. I had a friend in Highschool, who had absolutely ZERO Depth Perception, so I would assume he wouldn't be able to see the 3D in the 3DS.

I think your missing the point man. o_o; [also for me the 3D didn't bother me from jump street. And thats odd because 3D glasses make my eyes hurt like a sunofabitch]

I was in a store and there I could play Legend of Zelda ocarina of time. I saw 2 links o_O
I was like what the hell is this 3D, but it was just unfortunenate for me :(

I have a lazy eye which results in my being legally blind in one eye (I can still see out of it, just not very well and there's no prescription that can fix it), poor depth perception and the inability to see 3D. As for what I see, basically turn on the 3D function and cover one of your eyes. That's what I see.

I also can't see those "magic eye" pictures either :p

I do have some depth perception (sufficient for me to be allowed to drive) but it probably works the same way as people who are blind in one eye and have depth perception. One of my caseworkers on a jobseeking program I attended was blind in one eye, and she was legally permitted to drive.

I can do magic eye pictures though.

I am able to see the 3D with one eye closed using my glasses. Without them I see an odd 2D image. Without my glasses on, I can still see the 3D almost perfectly with both my eyes open. Maybe some of you can try and see if glasses help you out. ( I'm not talking about 3D glasses, I am talking about regular casual every-day glasses).

You can't just go out and buy glasses, that is an incredibly stupid idea. If you need glasses then they must be prescribed by a specialist optician.

I know that, but I am saying maybe someone might be able to see the 3D picture better with glasses. I am not telling them to just go out and buy them

could work but depends on the strength of the lenses

no. if you do not medically need glasses and you wear them it will damage your sight. Mine would blind someone who had 20/20 vision.

Wait, what? Even with glasses, how are you seeing 3D with one eye closed? Does the 3D effect, whatever the platform, not need TWO eyes to see it?

it maybe one yey is better than the other but if u do that the other eye would get messed up so a epic fail here
