I hope this wouldn't be considered as topic hijacking but since this is a thumb drive thread. Have you guys been infected by viruses that are passed on via thumb drive link up? There are some asshole Computer course students here who make annoying viruses using visual basic that afflict thumb drives. They inject the viruses onto unsuspecting Internet Cafe PCs making using thumb drives on Cafes very unsafe, what's worse is no anti virus suites seem to have the ability to remove the crap. AVG can detect them but can't do anything about them. Man I had to get rid of my thumb drive because of those jerks :p

Well, some newer flash/thumb pen whatever drives have extra stability like antiviruses and password protection etc. They don't really protect public PCs. I think you should hunt down those jerks.

Google search "TIGA LIPA Are" & "Strawberry" viruses anand, those are two of those crap viruses those jerks made. Those things crippled alot of Internet Cafes when those things first spread out. Then this guy "leerz" made a removal tool for these viruses right? But guess what, his "removal tool" was laced with an exploiter bug that will mess up your PC, assholes! :p

If carrying guns weren't illegal & killing wasn't a crime, I'd gun those jerks down :p

Now I can't even trust my friends for file transactions using my thumb drive & instead burn CDs for them for trades

don't sd cards have some security? use them instead of usb drives. an sd with usb adapter. same size as thumb drive.

also report it to the major anti virus people, they'll figure something out. and haze them a bit, set fire under foot.

They can be made read only, but so can most thumb drives.

never thought about that. you can also lock a sd card simply by sliding the switch.

Same with Memory sticks, such as Pro Duos etc. Except that you can just switch it back.
