thinking about modding my Ps2

I had the urge to play all those Super Robot Wars the other week and I decided to take my PS2 downtown for some modding. I did some research, and this guy I know told me where to take it and such, but he also told me an easier alternative looking for this disc that automatically allowed me to read unofficial discs. Also, he told me this was the best way to remove the region coding from my PS2, and this is great for me, because all of the SRW games are japanese exclusives.

Unfortunely, he couldnt tell me the name of this disc. Im probably going to llok for it later, but could anyone tell me more about this disc?

 

I forgot the name...I just got mine chipped since it saved me some time XD


But what I do know, is it apparently allows backup games to run...but no idea if it has to be of same region or not.


The chips allow dvd movies from other countries to work as well, but if only for games, the "swap disc" might be good.
