Seems like most of the latest games are now doing their best to block out the R4. While it has served me greatly in the past, it looks like its on its last legs. Which card do you guys suggest that I get? Could you provide me a link where I can get a legit copy of said card?
The current top are acekard 2/2i, CycloDS and Supercard DSOne, i'm using a acekard 2i (AKAIO 1.6RC1- newest firmware) now and it works perfectly, it plays all roms without the need for a patch. Newer games won't work on R4 because is no longer updated (a few updates for the clones do work on the legit one), meaning the AP evolved but the R4 firmware hasn't. I got mine at a store to know what i was buying, i recommend you do the same.
To my luck, despite all that ranting in the Sonic thread. I was able to find an Acekard2i at my store. Any particular acekard2i firmware or stuff I should put on there so I can play any recent games like Spirit Tracks, Sonic Classic Collection and HG/SS?
im also thinking about replacing my r4sdhc for the same reason, thought about getting the acekard 2 and giving my card to my son.
can the AKAIO (1.6RC1) be booted with nintendo dsi? and i need serious help on where i can find a good place to buy the AKAIO (1.6RC1) from
AKAIO runs on every acekard 2/2i, it is free to download on the official website (there is a link to it on the acekard website too). The acekard 2i will work on the DS, DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL with no problems but you'll need to update the card's firmware (run an update file on a DSi up to 1.3 or any DS Lite/ phat). http://realhotstuff.com/ TirithRR, one of the moderators, bought his from here, i'm not in London so i can't be of much help on this matter.
just ordered an acekard, hopefully it will be here quickly, then i have to get my head around the whole new firmware and akaio.
I can't buy these in Australia at all, it's so lame... yay for the internet. Will Acekard 2i work with my 8GB SD card?
The acekard has been reported to work on cards up to 16gb, i believe it supports even more (32, 64gb) but haven't seen reports of it doing so.
