I heard good things about the Witcher, and it's on offer on Steam now for 5$, so I was thinking of breaking the old pig to get something. Is it worth getting etc etc?

But as an RPG, is it a free-roaming game or is it straightforward?

    Is this sarcasm?
Anyway, just kidding. It's a good game. And it has pervy moments you love so much.

    I'm currently playing
    The Witcher Enhanced Edition

With that version you can play the Witcher 1 and
    the Wicher Enhanced Edition.

I like this game very much because you decide what to do and when
    and with who.

Great graphics nice voice acting smooth gameplay

(I'm playing the game with these specs:

    Windows 7 Ultimate
    AMD Athlon X2 255 (3.1 GHZ)
PNY Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT 512 MB PCI Express
    2 GB RAM (DDR 2 667 MHZ)
    160 GB HDD
    250 GB HDD
    ASUS m4a Motherboard

    Tis a great game!
Its not open ended/ free roam, but you get to adventure very large areas each chapter so you dont feel that confined.
The combat system is a bit weird, but i began to love it as i got used to it.(its just clicking after each combo to score a higher combo, but still fun when your hero learns all the moves).
GREAT story! Some decisions you make are quite hard. Btw, if you chose to slaughter the friendly creatures you encounter (you'll know what i mean, they look like the bad guys but they are good inside, i dont want to spoil much for you) you get extra points to spend on your skills.
I played as both the aggressive and gentle type in the game, just 2 let you know there is no wrong or right in the game as to which path you choose
ohh geez im spoiling it aren't I....anyways
get the dame game and play it >.<

I bought it off Steam for £3.50 and its the worst game i have ever played, the cutscene at the beggining is good, but gameplay is terrible.

But... reading the post above, it is actually the fighting bit which is annoying, so i may have another bash at it :)

Yeah this game isn't for everyone, but just keep playing it in hopes of you finding it fun :)
I am sure that The Witcher 2 will be much much more better. You tube it.
