I'm preety sure this isn't intentional, unless the user replies back. http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=32354.100 The reply got lost within the quote. And here again before it's ignored... http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39451.msg723386#msg723386 Here is the deal, what's happening is when the quote button is hit, you enter a reply and it works, but enter another quote and it all becomes as you see here, everything becomes into one posted quote. What could be done-now I also had another go, it seems if you enter the quote manually with quote tags instead of pressing a button it works as it should as you'll see here. bye bye again Now in my posted message (the second link) I did do the post correctly and checked the tags, if a mod can go back in and check to confirm what I mean that would be nice... Sorry to annoy you guys once more.
You mean when they reply within the quote? I'm pretty sure that is user error, not forum error. Instead of starting their post after the [/quote] tag they start it after what ever you typed. This is easier to do accidentally when you add extra lines to the end of your post, leaving space between what you typed and the [/quote]. The Quick Reply area also only shows a limited number of lines (6, I think. Unless it changes by resolution). And when you Quote, your view stays at the top even though your cursor is on the very bottom. Users may be clicking the bottom of the quick reply area and starting to type. There is no real way to remove the already quoted material when quoting, and guess what the users mean when they typed their reply inside the quotes. Users will just have to learn to reply outside of the quotes.
For the last time there is no problem. It works fine, I can quote multiple times and it's inserted at the end every time. It is a USER error when it happens. Is the forum the most user friendly it can be? No, definitely not, but it's not wrong. And I've stated before that I'm not going to change the way the forum works.
I'm not sure about the above example, but the second one which is mine ain't right...I double checked my quoting. I wonder how mine got messed up...well then... [me=hYpNoS]doesn't know how to exactly put what he means together, and thus gives up until a proper argument could be done (never)[/me]
