The Pokewalker

Here's a question on the pokewalker that comes with the new Pokemon games Heartgold and Soulsilver, can you use a soulsilver pokewalker on both a Soulsilver game and Heartgold game?

You won't be able to use it with a flash cart, though.
It transfers data between the IR ports on the official game cart and the PokeWalker itself.
