    Just get rid of it.

    It's annoying if you're trying to talk with different people.

    I know it's against spam, but I hate this limit so much!

    I think because I am a mod I can send more then 5pm/hour but I can see why it is annoying! So I think this is a good idea.

    It was implemented because we had a PM spam problem when it was unlimited.

    because the forum software doesn't allow that. it's a global limit only.

    That, and then only about two people would have unlimited messages anyways.

    that relies on people reporting it, and it doesnt stop people getting annoyed. People banned for PM span were re-registering and continuing their spam campaign. Setting the limit meant that it was no longer worth the effort to send the spam.

    On SM.org the 10 PMs an hour limit is pretty annoying, especially if you are discussing something important...

    If I recall correctly there was a small modification that allowed PM limit by membergroups, for the VIP suggestion.

    Nothing important is discussed over PMs... If you have something important like that send an email or get a chat program.

    PM's on any site can ultimately become public domain. I know you can figure out how yourself, then again, most messaging programs chat sessions can be saved as well. I guess it depends on who you trust. Still you wouldn't give out your AIM or other messaging program's screen name without somewhat trusting who you were giving it to, now would you?
