Yay. Anyways I don't know how to make images transparent, not the background but the image itself. I want to be able to make it like 50% transparent etc. Any help? EDIT: Figured you have to change the opacity.
I use Gimp as well...But alas I'm still noob at it...I can show you a a sig I did recently for a the RO P-server I play on....
Gimp is by far one of the most interesting raster image programs I have ever used, and honestly, I love it lol. Dont let the interface scare you away, its actually quite intuitive, once you get the hang of everything. plugins are what make it even greater. if there is a feature your lacking, odd are, you can find a plugin for it. take the horrible brush management (aka none) there is a Perl based plugin that handles brushes beautifully, allowing you to load up non, or all of your brushes on the fly.
Oh okay. I can't seem to find any decent tutorials either...I do get the general idea, but I know there are more and better techniques out there.
You can pretty much use PS tuts for Gimp. Both programs have the same tools, but, you can find alot of good Gimp specific resources over at deviantart.com. another feature to note, that is recent to Gimp, is the ability to use PS .abr brushes Nativity. No need to convert them to use here is a link for the brush manager, please read the instructions for the setup though, you will probably need to reinstall Gimp if you installed it without python support as it needs that to use the plugin http://myweb.msoe.edu/~bogies/brushmanager/ and yes... i know i said the plugin was perl in my last post i lied
does somebody knows how to make good renders with gimp, i always have white or black borders left after cutting it out
1. Make an account at planetrenders.net 2. Log on your account 3. Go to render gallery 4. Search for a render in the search box 5. Click on the render. 6. Click on the picture with the black background again for full size 7. Right click -> Save as 8. Save the picture as .png 9. Open your picture and copy it. 10. Paste it into your signature 11. Resize, try to keep render free from stretching. 12. Go on with your signature.
I have GIMP 2.6 and i just love it. I have tried CS3 but got confused quickly. It seems there are that many GIMP uses on this forum though
