Not sure if this been done recently but with Nintendo's Announcement during E3 about the Wii U it makes me wonder what direction do you think the world of console gaming is heading? I mean Nintendo is the front runner of coming up with new "gimmicks" in gaming. Makes you wonder if we are heading for the "gimmicky" future of gaming. Microsoft and Sony are still very much into the classic controllers but with their recent release of Move and Kinect which are emulating the Wii's controller function, I can't help but think that they too are heading into the world of gimmicky gaming. Which leads me to my question again, Where do you think the world of console gaming is heading?
This. Im tired of the gimmicks being released now, I don't want to wave my arms about, if I did, I wouldn't be playing video games.
Just like that episode from Jimmy Neutron. But yeah I think eventually games will become Virtual reality like in the .hack games
Jimmy Neutron for the win!!! But I think the console world will head towards the gimmicks, I hope not. Although we have a Wii and I like it very much, it is nice to play other games with a normal controller every now and then at the house of friends. I just like the Wii becuase it's from Nintendo(fanboy?), the motion controlls are fun but sometimes you are just kinda sick of them.
i always wish game was like that.. anyway i dont know about M$, but Sony dont really focus on entirely on Move like dump move Nintendo once try to pull... what they try to do with move is give people a new way to play games, but not replace them as many of sony core title is move compatible not move exclusive. but sony is really pushing 3D in e3 this year. they even release a 3D exclusive screen for PS3.
I like to keep my hands on a controller because the controller also acts as a rage ventilator which you can throw,smash and more. Talking about that, there was a show that was built around this feature...Johnny...something, argh cant remember.
