The big Nintendo 3DS roms and emulation discussion thread

you guys can discuss things here about future 3DS emulation and stuff. There's no need to go off topic in other threads, so discuss those matters in here.

 

3DS already getting dumps eh? That was Mighty Fast. I haven't even got one yet. Though a friend of mine said he would buy me one... Then again he's on break from being over seas in Afghanistan so he's got some cash to spend. Idiot bought a 50 inch tv just to play an Xbox 360 game for a few days before he hops on a plane. D: talk about a serious impulse buy. But gotta love em.

Anyway back on topic~
The 3DS is shiney and new and hopefully we will see some actual advancement in the Homebrew department, provided we get a way to run code on it. Would absolutely LOVE to fiddle with that. But some reason I doubt it... The whole Homebrew scene seems to have just... up and shit the bed all at once.

When/if I get a 3DS though I'll be happy just having something new to play with. [psp being in the unplayable state right now] As much as I am geared to go for getting a 3DS though... there is like... nothing out right now that seems to be a MUST have. The AR cards that come with it sound nifty and all, and the built in software looks fun... Street fighter looks like the only game that I would buy... and I'm not a big SF fan.

Here's to hoping Capcom doesn't leave me high and dry on Megaman Legends 3. [Whole damn project is riding on how well the prototype does. wtf.]

So how bout the rest of you? What are your views about the current lineup of 3DS games?

 

i bought the 3DS on the first launch day because... i dont even remember anymore. i'm so disappointed in the launch game and everything released since. it's all boring and the thing is overall disappointing. the games arent worth buying just like nintendo ds. i cant wait for a flashcard. does anyone remember how long it took for a flashcard to come out for the ds?

There are the ROM's for download. But...uh...no, they can be fake.

 

they could be fake, but most likely not since the dumpers are a really know group and have been around for quite a while

 

We're not sure if the roms are dumped properly though.

I think it is actually the opposite. I am almost certain that there will be 3DS flash cards, maybe Nintendo is going to try very hard to block them, but I think they will come, eventually.

 

We'll see. These hackers are pretty clever. I don;t know what I'd do if i had to go back to buying my handheld games! That money is supposed to go to my other console games!

Actually, it wouldn't kill me, but what I love about what I do here is I can try pretty much anything that comes out and also get to try non-localized games I normally wouldn't have access to. Not to mention fan-translations and other homebrew projects.

 

i dont think it will happen for quite a while yea sure the roms are available but not very good ones shadow wars was trash monkey ball is a game i have to play bits of then go back to enjoy it

Yep, but what more nice than that you already have a flashcard that can run 3DS games if a good game comes like Super Mario or Mario Kart.
