Sure, we have our favorite games, and we have the games we think should be buried in a New Mexican desert, but what about the individual aspects of gaming? What story swept you up into the world, what game did you feel like you could actually touch and feel, what soundtrack pumped up your adrenaline or emptied your eyes? Basically, it's time to find out what games do what well, what games did poorly, and eventually find out what the RomUlation crowd loves, what it hates, and find out what game is truly the best, or the worst, game of all time, and just what makes that pinnacle or abomination what it is. --- Day 0: Instructions -- So, here is the beginning of this here little 'game'. With each following topic, there will be an aspect of gaming, such as "Characters" or "Graphical Design" that all add up to larger portions of the game, such as overall "Story" or "Gameplay," which will, in turn, add up to the best and worst games of all time (as chosen by the relatively small community of RomUlation XD) In each round of the game, you post what game you think best exemplifies that element, and which game you think displays the worst of that element. At the end of each round (round length to be determined by user traffic), the votes will be totaled, and whichever game received the most votes will be named the best or the worst of that category. After each of these small elements has a winner and a loser, those titles and their runner ups all enter for the larger aspects ("Story", "Gameplay"). The same rules follow, except that you may only vote for these games. Once the round is up, the overall best and worst in these larger elements are named. With the final round, the winners, losers, and runner-ups of the larger aspects all come together for overall best and worst game. The same rules apply, and we'll eventually name the games the RomUlation loves and loves to hate. -- Rules -- 1) You may only nominate two titles per round - one 'best' title, and one 'worst' title. You can submit simply one best or worst, but you cannot submit two best or worst titles, and you can only vote ONCE in each round. 2) You may NOT change your choices once you have posted. When it's been posted, your choices are final. 3) Posts must contain, somewhere, the following - additional content before or after this is perfectly fine: Best: [Title of the game] Worst: [Title of the game] -- Closing -- Okay, that's it. I'll leave this topic up for a while so people can notice - if you want to participate, make sure to post so that I can get a rough estimate of how much traffic and votes the topics will receive to better work out the time frames of each round. Even if you don't post here, you can always vote in later rounds; I just want to see how many people would be interested in doing something like this. Ciao~!
do you have to actually play the game or can you just use what you know from reviews and such? also, do you have to post a good and a bad or can you just do one only? i haven't played alone in the dark [the new one]. but based on what many have said about the game, it is a bad game. why is it a bad game, because you have weapons that don't kill the monsters. the only way to kill the monster is to use fire. that makes the game very restrictive.
Unfortunately, Kamage, this is just to inform people of this little game thing - I don't think we'll be doing the best and/or worst game for a while now. Make sure to keep a lookout for following topics/rounds, and make sure to try and vote for those games where relevant to hopefully get them into the final rounds. You can vote for just the best or worst game, and I'm assuming it'll reach the point where people will end up not having played several of the games on the list. While I'd rather people have played the game, you really could vote for anything if you wanted to.
Best - I have played dozens of game in my life, on old consoles or on the next generation consoles. According to me whatever games I have played on PC have been the best... while I have played many games on my PS3 but haven't loved the games much as much as on the PC. The best game according to me is Deus Ex which I have completed about 2 times, its gameplay and anxious story keeps you on your edge. At the end the game boasts its unusual experience. Worst - Ahh... I haven't played many of the abysmal titles, but their have been some let offs and put downs. The worst game I have played is Need for Speed Pro Street, which brought down the reputation of the series.
Best - Half life 2, I'm saying this because I have played it through so many times Worst - Wall.E game for the DS, my friend gave it to me after he bought it, for some reason alarm bells didn't start ringing then.
Off Topic - LOALLLLL !!!! WTF ? HAHAHAHA !!! Whats The Point In Having Weapons Then ? LOL !!! On Topic - Best - Fire Emblem (All of them) AVG - Final Fantasy IX (FF9) Worst - Half Life (All Of Them)
Best : Kingdom Heart Series, incredible graphics, Gameplay and Storyline~! Perfect Game! Worst : Xenogear Series~ (-_-!!)
