Neither would win. The greatest weapon is the human mind, so whoever doesn't want to die, if they're engaged in war, will fight not just harder, but smarter.
sword and buckler, what is the net made of? but it depends , cause if you get caught by the net, you can be easily stab by the spear...
well if they were both new to there weapons and fighting in general. I would go with the spear and net, since it seems that it would be fairly easy to stab someone when you had the longer weapon. if they were both experienced. I would go with the sword and buckler because if you could dodge the net. A person with the sword could probably get in close while defending with the buckler.
depends on the spear, a light-long spear is easily used but if its made of wood, it maybe broke by the sword or the buckler. If the net is not strong enough, the sword may cut it easy?... but from watching gladiator movies, the net and spear is a formidable combination in the hands of an expert, but the sword and buckler at the hands of a centurion is hard to match. Agility is the bestfriend of the sword and buckler, while aiming and strength to toss the net perfectly will require large stamina and concentration.
Depends on how good they are with each choice of weapon, then if they limit themselves to just that. Tactics win wars, not weapons.
Spear & net of course... it was one of the deadliest combinations on the arena. Net can be used not only to immobilize the enemy, but to make him drop his silly sword :
