You know how when one card gets full and you really don't want to trash anything on it you'll shove another card into the first slot on a for real Playstion? Well I'm thinking there's got to be a way to do that on the ePSXe. Could somebody please tell me how?

rename the memory card file and it will create a new one.

I just go copy and paste-yep 2 of the same memory card :)

    Works fine-but yes rename it...

And you are aware that you have 2 mrc files by defualt-use the "bios" option to manage.

Well if you do that then how do you keep Windows from jumping down your throat about having two things named the same?

It ask you (on vista) to rename the file to (2).

Or copy the file and paste it somewhere else and rename that.

No offence...but it is common sence for those who have used a computer for even a year...

*Hold's sign saying DON'T KILL ME! and waves frantically

Should be right to go-now go enjoy your cloned mrc :)

*runs away to make another 5 copies-needs to dump the files to real memory cards.

COPY>FIND ANOTHER PLACE AWAY FROM ORIGINAL FILE>PASTE>RENAME FILE

It worked on my mum's old dinosaur.

If you use Copy/Paste on a file, Windows automatically renames the file to "Copy of FILENAME" or if that already exists "Copy (2) of FILENAME", etc.

Copy/Paste is treated different by windows than just renaming a file the same name. It renames the file for you, and does not give you any error.

Here is a screenshot of my memory card folder after using copy/paste on "epsxe000.mcr" twice and then once on "copy of epsxe000.mcr"

That doesn't happen with me in XP. I go to give two different things the same name and [bold]as soon as[/bold] I hit enter that little window pops up. You must be using Vista. Although for the life of me I can't why!

TirithRR is using XP. renaming to 'copy of' has been standard windows behaviour since windows 98, if not earlier.

    Fenny,

Do not rename the files to the same name. That will give you the error, and will always give you the error.

I am right clicking on a file, and choosing "Copy"
Then right clicking in the empty space of a folder and clicking "Paste"

I am not copying the name of the file and pasting it in the name of another file. I am copying the physical (virtual?) file itself.

I know, and that's no different than naming it the same.

It is different. And that's what I'm telling you :)
