In order to "sub" an episode you have to:

Transcribe what is said through the entire show.
    Translate the script.
Overlay the translated script with correct timing (when it appears it should be when the character or narator is talking).

But, if you have the ability to "sub" a show, you already understand Japanese (or what ever language it is in) so you wouldn't need to "sub" it.

There are many people who think that translating games or tv shows is as simple as pressing a button and having the computer do it for them. They don't realize that it's a human doing the translation of the Japanese text/audio.

When someone shows up asking that they want to sub an episode because they cannot find it subbed... makes you curious if they realize what it takes to sub it. Since if they were just after being able to watch the show they wouldn't need to sub it if they had the ability to sub it.

Anyway, the program I linked was just the first hit in google. I'm not 100% certain how good the various programs are...

How'd you find original japanese episodes anyway? I thought they were hard as hell to find. Anyways, subbing alone is usually boring and takes too much time. Get a few people fluent in Japanese, or just one person who's good in both Japanese and English to translate and the rest figure out the timing and stuff.
