I just bought a R4i 3DS for all DS systems. Before I went on and put games on it, I first wanted to check if everything was ok with it. So I put the R4i card into my DS Lite and start my DS, and what appears in a game called 'The Spiderwick Chronicles/Sierra Entertainment. inc.' complete with game icon. This while there is no SDHC card inserted too. And when I try to start it, it just tries to start the game and both screens go white. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
You will need to install your firmware to the MicroSD card. This is easy. Just go to the site printed on the card, and download the firmware/kernel that is used by your card. Then extract and copy over to the MicroSD. The name of the card 'The Spiderwink Chroni...' is just a fake name. It is used to trick the system into believing it is a legitimate card. This name can and usually will change when you update the cards with patches.
Thanks, but it still shows the game name when I insert my SDHC card with the latest kernel software. Note that this is a 4GB SDHC card of Kingston.
http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp The English download version on the bottom ( with the 'i', without the v1.xx). I have bought the same package as the red ones seen in the right corner with the big green '3DS'. However, I noticed that the site on my package says 'http://www.R4i-SDHC.hk' instead of 'http://www.R4i-SDHC.com'.
Why this is odd. When I typed the site into my browser nothing showed up, but clicking on this link brings me directly to the site. I'll report if this one works.
Yes, it works. And no I didn't type it wrong, I triple checked it. Thank you for your patience with me!
