Starcraft: It Won't Work On My Comupter!

    Windows Vista (yeah, yeah I know)

    I installed Starcraft to C:\Program Files\Starcraft and then tried to run it.
    Obviously that wasn't so successful.
    I've tried installing patch 1.16.1 and got:

    "ERROR: unable to authenticate archive"

    It gives me this message when I try to run it now...

    "font/font.gid
    The system cannot find the file"

    I HAVE tried all the compatability tools and gotten the same messages
    I've used it on XP and 98 without problems of any kind (along with Brood War, which also refuses to work on my current computer...)

    Is your Vista the 64bit version?

    i have windows vista 64 bit but then again my version of starcraft is pirated soo idk it shouldent be the operating system though

    Actually it probably is the operating system. Starcraft is a very old game now.

    A museum classic at best...

    32 bit Vista

    ... God I loved that game back in the day
