I've went to other forums, and checked but it didnt really tell me anything, but that using XP is much better(i agree, but i gave ma old computer away), so please help, and Thank YOu

Yes, both Source and Anthology (which is Condition Zero and 1.x, no?) should work well on Vista. Slower than XP, yes, and you may encounter some errors, as Vista is fairly new, but Steam's service allows for OS updates nicely.

If you don't play Source/Anthology via Steam, I don't know, though. You'll likely need an update, depending on the date of purchase.

In that case you should be fine, and please don't abbreviate words, it's against our rules.

OH i am very sorry, and also thanks very much for the help, but just one more thing, when i went to buy the game the box said requirements needed Windos XP, and no vista, so would that be a problem

Generally what is printed on the box are 'minimum' and/or 'recommended' requirements, meaning that it will work with different configurations, providing they are not less than the minimum.

Also i don't believe they would have updated the box for it to say Vista on it.

if it works on XP then that is the minimum requirement, not vista. It would also be hard for any company other than Microsoft to recommend vista for games...

I just tested counter-strike 1.6 and conditionzero. Works fine on vista.

Should I get Vista or stay on Windows XP? I prefer XP over Vista, but people keep saying different things about how it is crap, or how its better!

vista is a resource hog and tends not to run games very well for that reason. Stick with XP

Thanks. I guess SOME of my friends were right :p Still, I like XP the way it is. The crappy part is I have eMachines. It isn't that great because it does not function properly when full screen programs/games open up. For example, Doom 3 was fullscreen, and my comp didnt work when i tried. So i pulled the plug at the back. and had to keep trying to turn on my computer. Eventually worked, but annoying. To make the game windowed, I had to go to the Doom3config file, and set fullscreen from 1 to 0...
