I recently had my PS2 slim modded with a Matrix modchip. I've downloaded the Xenogears ROM (a .mdf image file) and burnt it using Daemon Tools Lite and Astroburn Lite at the slowest speed (which is 8x) and had the disc's data verified.

When I load the game the opening FMV doesn't have any sound, although there are sound effects in-game. I've managed to get other PSX games working the same way but only Xenogears has had this sound problem.

The CD is a TDK disc. Although Astrburn indicated that Xenogears' disc 1 image file was larger than standard CD sizes it still managed to finish burning successfully.

Does anyone know what the possible problem might be?

    Thanks for the assistance.

check this thigns on the disc:

tell me wich color is the recording layer (the bottom of the disc)

also tell me if you see a full white line around the disc.

tell me if you see any scratches.

The recording side is silver, with a tint of gold.

There is a band around the outer edge of the disc. My other burnt games also have that band, but they're of varying sizes.

    No scratches.
