lol! so what was it about 3d glasses that many people were very focused about when sony first announced they are making 3d games? then later announced they are making 3d tv without glasses?

clearly nintendo's announcement of the 3ds is sure a big hit that will change things around.
here is a prime example. 3ds will be 3d without glasses and sony, which kept pushing for glasses 3d is now changing and making non glasses 3d.

So many TV companies were trying to make Glasses free 3DTVs even before the 3DS was announced. You're singling out Sony simply because they have another department that eclipses video games.

I think Toshiba are actually getting it, having more angles of viewing.

i know that, toshiba announced it several weeks ago. what makes it even more funnier is that toshiba is an electronic company, which is making glasses free 3d tv before sony. sony is still with glasses 3d tv. so now you not only have nintendo making a glasses free 3d product but also a competitor of electronics that is making glasses free 3d product. what is sony doing?! lol! how many people here bought 3d glasses for the ps3?! lol!

Isn't another company making the screens for Nintendo?

The natural progression of 3DTVs is getting rid of the glasses, why wouldn't Sony start investing in No-glasses-3D? In fact, all the other big TV manufacturers have started making them. As stated above, I think Sharp was helping out Nintendo with their screen.

In fact, small 3 inch 3D no glasses required display is so incredibly different from a 50 inch television. As the smaller screen, you can adjust on the fly to get the effect, while on the TV, you have to be in a specific spot to see the effect. This is more Sony going up against Sharp, Toshiba and Panasonic, not making a nod to Nintendo AT ALL. In fact it's entirely irrelevant and baseless to say that they're simply taking away Nintendo's thunder away on purpose by starting to invest in this idea. They're trying to compete against the other TV companies as the 3D glasses are something that takes you out of the experience and is difficult to experience for people who wear glasses.

Sony is simply competing with Toshiba (who seems to be leading the pack in the 3D without glasses in the TV market).

    More like months ago.

No one, as the people who did buy 3D glasses bought it for their TV.

I lol simply for the fact that you're laughing at the foreign idea of borrowing and trying to improve concepts, competition, and for comparing two irrelevant things.
