Sony to use external processor to boost ps3's power!?

    interesting, it would need a pretty damn fast interconnect though.

    Third parties have been trying to add more ram to the PS3 for ages, because the lack of ram is the only thing that prevents the PS3 from becoming a cheap and viable alternative to the hugely expensive multiprocessor computers used in renderfarms. If it had been released with 1GB of system ram then it would have done the job right out of the box.

    That's actually pretty sweet.

    I heard about them making an external disc drive for PS2 or something like that a while ago.

    i thought about this a while back, i never actually considered this would actually be a plausible idea o_O
    that'd be awesome if games included the option to use it :X
