http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=283350 Jesus...so what will they ban, the whole freaking ps3 having online access? Post Merge: [time]1294914734[/time] Someone summon C_nemesis here, he NEEDS to read this...
Re: Sony can ban hacked ps3\'s...without having a psn!? easy, dont connect your PS3 to the internet, since you dont need to use PSN, you wont need to connect to the internet. without the internet, PS3 cant connect to the sony server thus avoiding the watch full eye of sony.
Even using playlist and such can get you banned, only option is to disable the internet connection and dont use the media server functions... But that's exactly the same as being psn banned anyway.
exactly, since you are getting ban anyway, dont let your PS3 connect to the internet, there is nothing your PS3 can do with the internet without PSN anyway. but that isnt as bad when compare to let say sony decide to remote install a "secret" file to break any hacked PS3 upon detection.
But to intentionally break their own products? That isnt right, with the wii I understand, for past firmwares would (and newer ones) break them because they went right in, and the firmware was still having it's kinks fixed. For sony to now make ticking time bombs...and if the hackers find these, they will call for war...if it's just a simple file destruction then that is fine but an intentional file made only to destroy ps3's....no. They cannot.
They just claim ignorance and point the blame at what ever methods people were using to "hack" their consoles as being what broke them. I'm sure Sony has enough smart people working for them to be able to effectively cover their tracks to not point towards them being the reason Time to put the tin foil hat on.
I just now blocked my MAC address from connecting to my router. I've got a modified backup manager that has Call of Duty Black Ops as its title. I'm hoping it will just send data saying I've been playing 500 hours of Black Ops when really I've been playing any other game not named Black Ops. lol Crossing fingers... And hoping someone will create a working backup manager (as in actually plays the games) for Geohot's 3.55 JB. Or someone can just modify Geohot's CFW to run unsigned packages...
