First and foremost. Ahem. *Insert girly scream here* Now that that's out of the way (BTW, I guess 99% of us must've seen this by now, and if this has been posted somewhere b4, I'm sorry, tho at the time of posting I did search it beforehand and found nothing on it): after 15 years of prayer, SEGA has apperently mended its ways, for Sonic 4 is here, and, apperently, it WILL kick some serious ass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veb5tG6ilxc Get to your feet again SEGA fans, and Repent heathens, FOR THERE IS A GOD!
Indeed, it will be episodic in nature, and download-only so far. But I wouldn't worry much about that, they'll problably pack all of the episodes up and release them as a single disc once they are all out.
anyone besides me found his 3D movements worse than the old sprite ones? and nothing will beat the advanced serious or the unleashed D:
This is both good and bad to me. pros: -classic sonic gameplay -Sonic-only playable character -no new characters -True sequel to S3&K -2.5D & HD Cons: -Episodic game(probably 2 zone per episode at $10 a piece -game is a download (why? why not a full retail?) -need work on sprites/animation/graphic (e.g. sonic's walk) -homing dash(really? this is not necessary? re-add the Shield not this) -
His "actual" walking animation is not really clear; there's about 2 seconds of actual gameplay shown, the rest (when he jumps @ some rings and stuff) seems to be some CGI render, there's no guarantee that's the ingame walking animation.
Nice ;D I agree with the running animations though, doesn't really shows Sonic as a fast creature. They should make a better one.
I wish they kept everything 2D as in sprites, just redone HD. From the two seconds of whatever they showed from the new one, it looks repulsive.
Seeing as this is SEGA we're talking about, I don't think they're willing to waste more money then necessary on this (making a main entry in the series episodic and DLC only shows how far the series has sunk), and I wouldn't want them to pull a King of Fighters XII here anyway: they have higher chances of not failing (or not failing too hard) with a 2.5D style IMO. In fact, I think I'm so frickin' happy that it won't include atrocities like the werehog levels in Sonic Unleashed or the any-other-character-that-is-not-a-hedgehog leves in Adventure 2 that I'm willing to have anything they throw at me.
