Sonic classic collection

I have just got "Sonic Classic Collection" and don't know if I'm missing something here, but it seems like I'm not controlling the game and Sonic seems to just move by himself, even if I don't touch any of the controls he still moves and jumps.

Is this right? Or am I doing something wrong?

 

That's weird...unless you didn't hit start and it's showing you a demo?

 

It does say something in the instruction booklet about pressing start, but where do I need to do that. I click the "play" icon in the bottom corner of the screen.

 

Just try clicking on the game icon on the touch screen.
That works for me.

Then, in game, click the start button on the DS console to start the game or select the mode you want to play.
To pause the game, you have to click the pause button on the bottom right-hand corner of the touch screen.

Thanks for your help, I've sorted it now. It appears I was just watching the demo! ;D
