first off im so glad that sites like this exist, if not for you, clueless people like me would be stuck in the stoneage! ok here goes, please be patient with me, i just found out i could download games for my DSlite so i bought an AceKard2 and a 4g microsd card. i already have an adapter to plug in to the computer, ok so did i get the right stuff?
and what do i do with it? i dont know anything about the .rar and converting people talk about, if its at all possable could someone start from the beginning and walk me through? or if there is a posting up already or another site, please point me towards it? thank you in advance for all your help, and reading my pathetically long plea for help!

You need to get firmware from http://www.linfoxdomain.com/ds/. Download the firmware for your AceKard2. Direct link for you if you can't find it. http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/dl.php/AceKard_2_v4.13_menu.zip

A better alternative firmware is at http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=124842

Get Winrar from http://www.rarlabs.com/ and install it. Once it's installed, right click on your downloaded .rar file and go Extract Here. A folder should pop up etc. Go into that folder, and take all of those files and put them straight onto your MicroSD. Do the same thing with downloaded ROMs, download, extract, drag and drop onto MicroSD. Done.

ok thank you! i think i can handle that. so after i save it all to my micro sd, do i just put the acekard in my ds and pick which game i want? will the acekard act like a normal game cartridge and save progress etc?

You put your MicroSD in your Acekard, then you put the card in your DS. Choose to run the Slot-1 card from the DS boot screen and you will be booted into the Acekard's "Operating System".

It's actually pretty neat. Choose what game you want to run from the list, it'll save just like if you were using the real Game card.

Yes. You can still send a ds download request, and receive them from your DS firmware obviously.
