Soft-Modding Wii... HELP Please!!

Could someone please explain to me EXACTLY how to softmod my wii....i've seen about 4 or 5 different ways to do this... someone on emuparadise that it was better to soft-mod and gave me some links, but it's kinda confusing....and weird......please elaborate on the subject if you don't mind

(i've already installed the homebrew and dvdx, but bootmii is confusing me.......)
