i sort of agree with this - http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/review/R140063.html the story is better then he/she says but the rest is accurate(imo) its very easy, just autobattle non stop until you need healing, quick paradigm change and back to autobattle. its not a bad game, its good! but just not a classic, i cant see myself playing through a 2nd time
Well you guys obviously are lazy enough to pick auto battle. I never pick it. It is a good game. OBVIOUSLY its not a classic because it's only just come out. But I will play it the second time.
I love it I also never pick auto-chain. Except at the start of the game. (I had no idea what to do ) I will play it at least 2X!
great game, but bad cast. most of the characters bug me. and what happened to weapons and armor? theres a lot more fashion than dignity in the cast............ regardless it is a badass game. it's impressive every time you turn it on. graphics are amazing. the fighting is great, the areas are cool, good enemy variance, and the music isn't bad either. The only bad things i can say about it are the cast is weak, and they ditched random battles.
personaly im love this game, i think the story is amazing, i love the battle system so much ive been running around just leveling something ive never like doing in any rpg but ive spent a good 10 hours getting CP because its fun, at first the characters did bug me a bit but after the first 3 chapters ive grown to them. if the rest of the game holds strong this could the best FF imo, but for now 9 still holds the top possition, but i can easily see myself replaying this game just like i have with out FF games
Best FF?Absolutely not. Gamespot -8.5/10 IGN-8.9/10 Edge-5/10 x-play-4/5 lol.it's overhyped.Square Enix has lost it's touch. 8+ is great for a game but not FF.FF(main series) should get 9+...
ive got sick of it at chapter 7, playing lost odyssey instead now far too linear, ive heard it opens up at chapter 11 but i cant be bothered to grind through till then, a game should be fun and enjoyable! after the "wow i got me a new ff and look at the graphics!" wears off its boring. i rate it about 6/10 up to chapter 7
The game gets good after Chapter 7. Linear makes the best Final Fantasy. I'd rather be in the know then wondering around like a faggot knowing what not to do. >grind srs? There is no grinding in it.
i hope it does get better after 7, i will probably go back to it after lost odyssey, completed every single FF(except 11 and crisis core which ive never played) so im not gonna let it beat me. need a break though, i find myself looking for the next save point so i can turn it off!
The game is great. But as mentioned by someone else, it is a somewhat grind to get to the point where the game "Supposedly" opens. I can't seem to play the game for more than 5+ hours at a time. I can only play the game for part time sessions. Everytime you get to a new area you get excited at the landscape of everything, but then you realise you have to go through another linear area once again. It's still great, but feels repetitive, except in a different area and sometimes different monsters.
Nice to see the people commenting have actually Played the game for once =/. I think its brilliant. Not the best, nowhere near IV or VI tier, but better than most of the ones that have come out since VII. Characters could be better, but good. Story is good. Gameplay is brilliant. Music is brilliant.
I am going to pick the game up sometime this week. Im fine with the linearity as FFX was also a straight line most of the time and its still my favorite game in the franchise.
for the first console FF i played, it's not awesome. It's good but really too straightforward. i liked equipping shitloads of stuff on my characters and visiting towns, and the grinding meant i had something to look forward to; the ding of "LEVEL UP!" The graphics, the story(slightly), and the battle system hold it up but still not as great as FF4. it'd be cool if i could just run around town just doing nothing till i felt like going to a dungeon but there's nothing but road after road. the battle system, i thought i could actually move while selecting commands and just run at the target...
It's been enjoyable so far. That huge jump in difficulty at the start of chapter 11 messed me up quite a bit but beyond that, it's been a good game. Honestly, I think the best thing about this game so far is that there doesn't seem to be a damage limit like in FFX that I needed special skills or whatever to break. I like dishing out 40,000 a hit.
