So yeah, I will buy a PlayStation 3 next week. But I don't know which game I should buy. Battlefield 3 looks interesting, but Saints Row 3, GTA IV, Heavy Rain and LittleBigPlanrt also look awesome. My nephew said that Arkham City was worth my money as well. I don't care about the genre, since I like most genres. Any help and suggestions would be great.
Battlefield 3 is an AMAZING shooter and so are all the Call Of Duty games. I have never played Uncharted but it looks like a beautiful adventure game.
If you're looking for a bit of a challenge I highly recommend Dark Souls. I've had it since Christmas and have really enjoyed it, despite being smashed into the floor several times by those bosses. Regardless it's worth a look into.
Try to get games that are exclusive for the PS3. Otherwise, you'll just call it a more expensive Xbox. Uncharted, Infamous, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo 5, God of War III, Tomb Raider, Sly Cooper, Metal Gear Solid 4, Demon's Souls, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, 4, Atelier series, etc. etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CategorylayStation_3-only_games My friends all think that the 360 is better, and in a way, for the games that they play, they've got the better version in terms of online play. However, they haven't played any of these games that I've mentioned and you really can't knock something without at least trying it. And then there's the obvious multi-console games, like GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, Saints Row, COD, Battlefield, Borderlands, Final Fantasy XIII, Resonance of Fate, Need for Speed whatever they're on now, Fallout 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect (more Xbox-sided)...I really can't think of anything else. I've been playing a lot of Borderlands lately, but you might want to hold off and wait for Borderlands 2 to come out.
I have to side with insanecrazy07 on this, go for some of the exclusives to start with, I wouldn't really recommend Metal Gear Solid 4 though unless you have played previous games in the series. As MGS4 is more of a wrap up than anything else. The story is rather convoluted so without some background on the whole ordeal you can get lost and not know whats going on. Demon's Souls is on my recommendation list though, it's a tough game and the multiplayer is.... different than most. It's one of the major titles that made me decide I needed a PS3. As for the cross platform games, my opinion is the PS3 tends to deliver a crisper visual, but it boils down to preference. A lot of people I know like the xbox360 more just for the controller style. While I know a lot of people who prefer the PS3 for the free online play.

ICO, Uncarted, Battlefeild, Call of Duty, Little Big Planet AND YES BATMAN ARKHAM CITY IS 100% WORTH YOUR MONEY
Always get the Uncharted series. If you're short on money, the 3rd one is good, because you don't need to play the earlier ones to follow the story. Both of them are WELL worth the money.
